Our Dark Horse

Our Dark Horse
I had the incredible pleasure of wrapping myself in music a few months ago. There are few bands that have the capacity to allow me to examine my own existence. Our Dark Horse is one of them. I don’t mean to imply that I was left questioning my fate, or destiny, or even my religion. I was left wondering what it was that sustained me during that performance. It is an extremely spiritual experience to listen to true musicians creating a melody that somehow opens a door of communication to something greater than myself. The constant beat of the base drum was parallel to the beating of my own heart. It was as if the beat came alive and with every down beat ceremoniously pumped my heart in the palm of its hand. I didn’t know if there was blood pumping through my veins or if it was purely the music that was sustaining my life. When every song finished I felt as though I was left gasping for breath, left craving another melody simply so I could feel like I was alive.

I truly know what you mean. I've also experienced short songs seeming to span a much longer time. Speaking of soothing music, a well played flute is always nice. I noticed you listed “Peter and Wendy” as one of your favorite books. You might be interested in knowing about Peter Pan’s NeverWorld. Believe.
